Louis was born August 15, 1920 to the late Flora Mae Lewis and Richard Whitfield Jordan. They lived in the Polly Watson Crossroads area of Wayne County. He was the tenth child in a family of fourteen and served in the Army during WWII along with four of his brothers.

Jordan of Tarboro.

Louis was a farmer by trade but his passions were raising hound dogs and hunting with them. Over the years he traveled to many states to hunt and was known to others in the sport as "one of the best".

Louis is survived by eight children; one sister, Elizabeth Jordan Gay of Walstonburg; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Garretts-Sykes Funeral Home in Ahoskie on Wednesday evening, October 22, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:30 PM.

Louis will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in the Jordan Family Cemetery at White Oak Presbyterian Church in Wayne County. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends after the service at the Jordan home place next to the cemetery.

I grew up knowing Mr. Jordon. He came almost everyday to my parent store on Highway 45. When he came in the door we knew he had a dog story to tell us...We enjoyed his company so much....I miss all those old guys that came in our store for a Pepsi and a nab...this one is going to be missed too.... my prayers go to this family.
