Lucille Mabry Stevens

Smithfield

Lucille Mabry Stevens, 84, of Smithfield died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at SECU Hospice House. Daughter of the late Clarence and Mae Russell Mabry she was born July 21, 1929. In addition to her parents Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Charles A. Stevens; and a daughter, Jennifer Myers. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Smithfield where she served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was a volunteer at South Smithfield Elementary School. Prior to moving to Smithfield she retired after teaching thirty-three (33) years with the Cumberland County Schools. She taught Sunday school at Snyder Memorial Baptist church in Fayetteville. Funeral Services will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Smithfield at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2014 with the Reverend Lee Colbert officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Smithfield.

Mrs. Stevens is survived by a son, Charles Stevens, Jr. and wife Laura of Fayetteville; a daughter, Jocelyn Andrews and husband Dean of Smithfield; a brother, Clarence Mabry and wife Lois of Albemarle, a sister, Geraldine Lemons and husband James of Albemarle; 6 Grandchildren, Heath Myers, Tiffany Willis, Claire Olinik, Anna Davis, Steven Andrews and Cooper Andrews; 2 Great Grandchildren, Alexi Willis and Cole Myers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church.

Although flowers are welcome, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the SECU Hospice House at PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
