Cary, North Carolina - Marcella Wheeler Tucker, 96, passed away peacefully at the Glenaire Retirement Community. She was born in Burwell, Nebraska and was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Dan C Tucker. They lived in many states and countries, but called Cary their home since 1976. Marcella was an active member of the Cary Woman's Club where she served as the President. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh. She and Dan were early supporters of Glenaire where she spent the last 15 years. Marcella is survived by her children, Dan Jr. (Patricia) of Apex, Lisa Vickery (Charles) of Florida and Mark (Stacy) of Raleigh; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the many years of loving care provided by the Glenaire staff and more recently by Transitions LifeCare.
A celebration of Marcella's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, December 6th, at Glenaire's Multipurpose Rm, 5000 Glenhope Ct. Interment at a later date will be in Ord, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Sunset Beach Turtle Program PO Box 7745, Ocean Isle, NC 28469 or the Cary Woman's Club Scholarship Fund, PO Box 918, Cary NC 27512.
