Margaret Everitt "Peggy" Bliss, 80, died peacefully on Monday, May 28, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Memorial service, Thursday, May 31, at 1 pm. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, in Raleigh.
Peggy was born on Feb. 2, 1932 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Mack. and Earline Everitt of Greensboro, NC. Graduating from Greensboro Senior High School in 1949, she attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a business major, and found a job as a secretary.
Peggy was an avid runner and beat several records in track events and road races. She met her husband, Milton in 1988 and married him the next year. They traveled throughout the South, competing in races. At the national level, they participated in the Senior Games in Syracuse, NY and Orlando, FL; Peggy was ranked sixth in the 800 meter race.
Surviving Peggy is her husband, Milton C. Bliss of Raleigh; sister, Martha Wilmuth of Lake Worth, FL; children, Jack Craver of St. Louis, Susan Faulk of Raleigh, and Steve Craver of Knightdale. Grandchildren, Claude Craver of Knightdale, Rick Barefoot of Garner and Dustin Phillips and Cheyenne Smith, both of Raleigh; Great-grandchildren, Rylee, Summer, and April Barefoot; great- great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jamie, and Caroline Barefoot, both of Garner.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Choir or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by Triangle Cremation Services.
