Margaret Stitt Obituary
RALEIGH
Margaret Mary "Mick" Stitt, 87, of Raleigh, joined Her Lord and Savior on April 27, 2017. She is welcomed into heaven by her husband of 58 years, Frank, daughter, Maribeth Spangenberg, daughter-in-law, Carla Stitt, son-in-law, Dan Hanlon, her loving parents, Elizabeth and Joseph Ehland, her brothers, Richard, Jack, Joseph, Jim Ehland and sister-in-law Gerri.
Margaret Mary worked as a nurse and Director of Nursing in the Alcohol and Drug Recovery field for 25 years. She was an incredible sponsor and mentor to many with her selfless compassion, humor and gift of listening. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for the past 28 years where she served as a wedding director and Stephen Minister.
Margaret Mary was a woman of strong faith. God was the compass of her life and all paths were chartered through Him. She was a lifelong friend to anyone that met her. She loved to laugh, and treasured all time spent with family and friends. She was an extraordinary mother to her seven children and an adored grandmother. Margaret Mary is survived by her children, Richard (Beth), Suzanne, Greg (Elizabeth), Blair, Maggie Hanlon, Kate Pirrung (David). Son-in-law Richard Spangenberg, eighteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren, her sisters-in-laws, Barbara, Jackie and Letty Ehland and many nieces and nephews in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Special heart felt gratitude to Juanita and Sheryl of Transitions Hospice of Wake County and to our earthly angel NeNe for her love, superior care and for being the hands and feet of Jesus in our lives.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 6:00 pm–8:30 pm at Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, Wake Forest, NC. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 2nd at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Raleigh, NC. Donations may be made to Hope Reins of North Carolina, 8420 Wake Forest Hwy, Raleigh, NC 27613.

Everything! I, will not seeing her on M,W,F. Not being able to comb her hair and then her falling to sleep. That , was her favorite part of my visit. Love you Ms Mick.Juanita

To my Dear Stitt Cuzin's,
I'm so saddened to hear about Aunt Mick's passing. When I went to read her loving tribute my breath caught in my throat as I immediately saw a pic of the "Queen". Your Mom was a force to be reckoned with and clearly lived up to her name. She could be all business when she needed to be... after all, we were all little hooligans when we got together in a pack at your house in the summers... Yet in the next moment she was the benevolent Queen who bestowed ice cream upon us all.
She was the best of everything and like all who have passed before her, she will be missed tremendously....
