Margo M. Lewis

December 11, 1947 - September 25, 2014

Cary

Margo McChesney Lewis, 66, passed away on September 25, 2014. She was born on December 11, 1947 in Albany, New York.

Margo was devoted to her family. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gordon Lewis; daughter Bronwyn Lewis and her fiancé David Craft of Wake Forest; son Justin Lewis and his wife Chearin Lewis of Fuquay-Varina; and granddaughters Aryanna Bryant and Cheyenne Lewis.

Margo lived life with passion and strength–passion and strength for her family, for her work, and for her friends. When she loved something, she loved it with her whole heart. She had a love for dogs and considered them a companion not just a pet. All who knew her were blessed by her unwavering love for her family and friends, her courage and her giving spirit. Whether you knew her as Mom, Grammy, or just Margo, you knew you were loved unconditionally and she would help you in any way she could.

To celebrate the life of Margo Lewis, the family will receive friends and family on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 12:00pm-3:00pm at Margo's son's home in Fuquay-Varina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Transitions LifeCare at 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607. Online condolences can be made at:

I worked with Margo on the NC Medicaid Account. Margo was a very fun and devoted person. I enjoyed seeing her in the hallways laughing together. Her nickname for me was Fancy, Fancy! I will miss her! My prayers and thoughts are with the family!

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing Margo for almost 20 years. She was such a good, loyal friend and confidant. She was so supportive during my brother's illness and recovery and a very special person to my daughter who called her "Granny Margo". Margo and I chatted at least once a week and I greatly missed those times once we started working remotely. We still kept in touch with birthday and Christmas cards and the occasional quick IM or email. I will miss the stories and pictures of her grandchildren and dogs and I will miss sharing stories and pictures with her. Words cannot express the sadness that I am feeling at this time. I have lost a true friend, but will continue to remember and treasure our friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I didn't know Margo on a personal level but the one thing I remember best about Margo is her ear cuff earring. I always thought it was so funky and such an unusual thing to wear. It takes a special kind of person to pull one off and she did it effortlessly. I regret now that I never told her how much I appreciated her unique sense of style. RIP Margo.

I worked with Margo for a while as she helpded support the CT Medicaid account for HP. She had the highest of work ethics and was very personable and easy to work with. We were both remote from the HP offcie in Farmington CT, so we never met, but still I felt like she was my friend. I really enjoyed being a small part of her life. When we shared destops for training, I saw pictures of her dog, which I know she loved. God Bless her and her family.
