Marie Bone Joyner

Marie Bone Joyner was called home to be with her heavenly Father on September 16, 2008 while surrounded by her devoted and loving family. She was born June 23, 1933 to the late Arthur Bone and Stella Lindsey Bone.
Marie was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and her church. For many years she played the piano, directed the choir, and sang praise to her Savior. She has taught many Sunday school classes, many children to sing, and was actively involved in the WMU for many years.
Marie shared her love for the family farm and was very active in the Nash County Farm Bureau. Marie was very instrumental in helping to organize the Farm Bureau's Women Committee and was Committee Chairman for Nash County as well as Chairman of the State's Women Committee. Even in her declining health she continued to have an active role serving her county and state in numerous Farm Bureau Women's activities.
Marie is survived by her sweetheart and soul mate of 56 years, Warnell Joyner; as well as their three daughters, Rhonda and husband, Mike Joyner, Gwen and husband, Jimmy Page, Denise and husband, Larry Hill; five grandchildren, Meredith and Michael Joyner, Lindsay and Kelly Page, and Valoree Hill.

The family will receive friends on 6:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday evening, September 18, 2008 at Union Missionary Baptist Church and other times at the home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Gleason, Rev. Reuben Batchelor, Rev. Jerry Braziel and Parker Philips officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
