Mary Elizabeth Casey went to sleep on April 12, 2018, and slept peacefully until her death on April 14, 2018. She grew up in Massapequa Park, NY, and lived most of her life in Wake Forest, NC. Her mother, Helen Casey, and her siblings, JoAnne Stanosz, Thomas Casey, Patricia Casey, Paul Casey, Kathleen Sweeney and William Casey, kissed her goodbye. Preceded in death too early by her father, Thomas Edward Casey, she passed into his gentle, loving embrace at 7:09 PM on a Saturday night.
Mary was well loved by her family, including her nieces and nephews and in-laws, Glen, Matthew, Mary Lynn, Jamie, Parker and Grant Stanosz, Laurie, Allison and Erin Casey, Michelle, Mark, Anna and Mary Biondolillo, Jeff Compton, Marylou and Courtney Casey, Sassan and Autum Estrada, John, Thomas and Tara Sweeney, Irene, Thomas, Brian and Hannah Casey, her dear friend Andrea Vocke, and her work family at the Hampton Inn, Raleigh. She was loved by Hampton guests and co-workers.
Mary was kind, brilliant, and funny. She had a heart of gold. She loved dogs. She and Mom traveled, cooked, and played computer games together. She wrote stories and she read thousands of books. She was teaching herself Russian. She was an amazing woman.
Our hearts are broken.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Mary's memory with a donation to the SPCA of Wake County or the Wake County Public Library.
