Matthew Johnson Obituary
January 6, 1983 - April 15, 2022
Raleigh, North Carolina - Matthew Grey Johnson left this life for his heavenly home on April 15, 2022. Matthew was born in Raleigh, NC on January 6, 1983 and grew up in Raleigh.
He is survived by his two brothers, Robert Sawyer Johnson and Greyson Pierce Johnson; and by his son, Logan Pierce Johnson. He is also survived by his aunts, Susan Hines, Gail Barham (Mac), Carolyn Hanson, Anne Hanson, and Amelia Holland (Paul); and by his grandparents, Anne and Howard Hanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amy and Tripp Johnson; and by his grandparents Marge and Les Johnson.
Matthew graduated from Sanderson High School and attended Barton College. He loved playing soccer, surfing, and playing the guitar. He served in the NC National Guard, and he served a tour of duty in Iraq. Matthew was a kind and adventurous soul, and we will miss him greatly.
A service to celebrate Matthew's life will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, April 26th at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary's St., Raleigh, NC, followed by a time of visitation.
