Max Kearney Obituary

Mr. Max Forrest Kearney, 76, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, December 22, 2005.
A native of Greene County, he was born August 20, 1929, the son of the late Albert Lloyd and Laura Ellen Smith Kearney. Max was a graduate of the Snow Hill High School and resided in Greene County untilmoving to Raleigh in 1973. An Insurance Investigator, he retired with Equifax with more than thirty years of service. Even after relocating to Raleigh, Max maintained membership at the Eden Christian Church in Greene County as well as attended services at the Mewborn Primitive Baptist Church frequently. His personable manner and befriending nature will always be remembered by those who knew him.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the chapel of Taylor-TysonFuneral Service, 117 NW Third Street, Snow Hill, NC. Elder J.M. Mewborn and Reverend Jack Mays will officiate the service. Interment will immediately follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Max is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Hamm Kearney; daughters, Rhonda Kearney Woodlief and husband, David and Jill Kearney Bite and husband, Bryan all of Raleigh; sons, Tim Kearney of Cary and Mitch Kearney of Raleigh; grandchildren, Brent Woodlief, Kyle Woodlief, Holly Bite, Eric Bite and Justin Kearney all of Raleigh and Brooke Kearney of Dunn; and a sister, Janet Kearney Hamm and husband, Alton of Snow Hill.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service in Snow Hill.
