October 31, 1945 - December 1, 2025
Raleigh, North Carolina - The Reverend Meta L. T. Ellington was born on All Hallows Eve, 1945 in Reidsville, NC and died December 1st at the age of 80. She was a child of God and an inheritor of the Kingdom of Heaven, a wife and mother and lover of all God's creation.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Woollcott Ellington, Jr. and their children William Wesley Ellington and Margaret Meador Ellington and her sisters Karen Hewitt and Hazel Newcomb as well as a niece and nephews and Biscuit, her beloved poodle.
In addition to being a teacher and potter, Meta was ordained deacon in 1988 in the Episcopal church and served the Diocese of North Carolina. She lived life to the fullest in service to others with arms wide open.
Meta was preceded in death by her parents, The Reverend Richard W. Turkelson and Lillian M. Turkelson.
The funeral service will be at 11AM, December 12th at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Raleigh, followed by a reception.
