March 10, 1961 – June 2, 2015
Pittsboro
Mr. Michael "Mike" Henry Clegg passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his residence in Pittsboro, NC.
Born in Raleigh, NC, he is the son of Rebecca Knight Clegg and the late Henry Clay Clegg, Jr.
Devoted to his wife and family, Mike also loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was employed as a Engineering Architectural Technician with the NCDOT, where he worked for the past 29 years.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Leigh Anne Clegg; his sons, Joey Wandzilak and Christopher Clegg; his sister, Leslie Clegg McKnight (Jonathan); his niece Kristen; his nephew Kyle; and several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service in Pittsboro, NC. The Memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Chatham UMC, with the Rev. Leah Skaggs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association: 3131 RDU Center Dr. #100, Morrisville, NC 27560.
Arrangements are under the care of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Pittsboro, NC.

To the Clegg Family - my heart goes out to each of your for your loss. I grew up with Mike from elementary through high school in Carriage Hills. One of my favorite memories of Mike was in 5th grade when our (very young) teacher let him bring in the 4 or 5 baby possums that he found in the woods. Those possums ran all over our desks and shoulders and we all just squealed with the delight ... until the principal came in and the possums had to be caged and returned home. Even then he was a nature guy. And always a good guy. My heart is heavy for you all. God Bless.
