Raleigh, North Carolina - Michael W. Higgins, 58, of Raleigh, passed away on December 19, 2021.
He was born in Greensboro, NC to William Henry Higgins, Sr. and Rebecca Spaulding Higgins.
He attended Ragsdale High School, and Guilford Technical Community College. Upon graduation, Mike started his career where he was employed with JMD Construction, Norcon, McDevitt & Street, Bovis, Lendlease, and ACC.
Mike lived life to the fullest and enjoyed a vast variety of things. He loved fishing, NC State,his fur babies, the Redskins, his work as he was always working. He was a big kid and enjoyed taking his grandkids, Morgan & Hunter, to play putt-putt, ride go karts, and to Disney. He also loved building relationships, which is evident as he has too many friends to count.
He will always be remembered for his huge heart, always giving and expecting nothing in return. He loved his Grandchildren most of all.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Janet Higgins; his step-son Chad Phillips and wife Rena; grandchildren, Morgan and Hunter Phillips; brothers, William H Higgins, Jr.& family Kimberly Higgins, Will Higgins III Jessica Higgins; Mark Timothy Higgins and family, Donna Higgins, Maddison and Nate Allen, Hanna Higgins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 12:00 – 3:00 pm at 324 Blackwell St. #700 Durham, NC 27701 on The American Tobacco Campus Bay 7.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike's honor to Foundation of Hope. www.walkforhope.com
