Seattle, Washington - Myles Preston Fenske age 32, passed on 9/19/20. He was born on 3/21/88 in Charlotte, NC to Linda and Wesley Fenske.
He graduated from Apex High school in 2006. Received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wilmington in 2010, and a PhD. in Biology at the University of Washington in 2017.
During his PhD. studies, Myles was the 1st to show that both plants and insects use their internal timing mechanisms, the circadian clocks, to control the timing of floral scent emission and seeking flowers for nectar.
He pursued his post-doctoral studies at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
He completed a team run marathon in 2019, and a solo marathon in Athens, Greece. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, traveling, and cooking.
Myles is survived by his mother, Linda; father, Wesley; brother, Jason; Jason's wife Tara; and significant other, Kristen Bales.
Our family had a small gathering for his memorial service.
