I remember Ham helping me make my decision to move to Georgia. He also helped me prepare for the move in instructive ways. Once I moved, we stayed in touch. I still love and miss him.

Nancy and the Parrish Womble family, my heart is full with sadness to hear of Ham's passing. I hope that the knowing that God makes no mistakes and that God has it all in control will give you some comfort . My prayers and thoughts have been on going ever since I heard of the both of you being sick and my prayers will continue. Love to you.

Mr. Womble earned and commanded respect. Even with his gentle manner and sense of humor, no one should ever forget how hard he labored for the people of Holly Springs.

Parrish Womble was a giant man that helped his community. No matter what recognition he received, he never forgot where he came from and was the epitome of humility. He was very friendly to me when I moved into the Holly Springs-Fuquay Varina community from Apex. He was as comfortable in the highest societies as he was in the housing projects. I was honored when he selected me to represent him on some legal matters. I would describe Parrish as having some of the same characteristics as the late Robert Kennedy. In a speech before he died, Robert Kennedy was quoted as saying: "Some men see things and ask why?' I see things and say why not? "
I believe those words would describe the life of Parrish Womble. I have never met a person either Black of white that did not say some good words to describe Parrish Womble. Sometimes in a generation, God gives special talents and blessing to particular people in our community. Parrish Womble was one of those people that God blessed and allowed us to have him for a short period of time on earth. Though Parrish is no longer us physically, the love that he has for his family, friends and community will remain eternal. THANKS BE TO GOD FOR ALL THE THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE. Minister, Amos Mills, III
