Patricia Fazio Obituary
Patricia Rohan Fazio, age 69, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at her home in Pinehurst, NC after a short illness.
Mrs. Fazio was born in Lynn, MA to the late Francis E. Rohan and Helen Gaska Rohan. She grew up in Marblehead, MA, and moved to Syracuse, NY in 1947 when her father was transferred there with General Electric Corporation. She was a 1954 graduate of The Convent School in Syracuse. She married Robert A. Fazio, Jr. of Syracuse in 1957. As an Army wife, she accompanied her husband to various military posts in the United States as well as assignments in Paris, France and Heidelberg, Germany. After her husband retired from the Army, the family moved to Germantown/Darnestown, MD until relocating toPinehurst in 2001 after her husband>s retirement from WorldCom/MCI.
While in Maryland, Patricia was an executive Secretary at several companies but most notably with SOLAREX Corporation, Rockville, MD. She was an ardent volunteer. While in the military community, she was a Red Cross volunteer, as well as being involved with other community and religious group, as well as serving on a variety of social committees. She was a self-taught seamstress and taught sewing classes at Fort Bragg for a number of years.
Among her many talents, she was an avid bridge player. After moving to the Germantown area, she was ahospice volunteer, as well as a driver for meals on wheels and active in many committees at Mother Seton Parish in Germantown, MD. In Pinehurst, she was active in the Military Officers Association of America Women, and served as bridge chairwoman. Shewas also active in the St. Joseph of the Pines Guild, Pinehurst Newcomers, and ACT II. In addition, she was a volunteer at St. Joseph of the Pines Health Center. She was predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Linda Rohan McDermott.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Fazio, Jr.; her sons, Robert Fazio and his wife, Donna Skidmore of Westlake Village, CA, James Fazio of Allen, MD, and Christopher Fazio of Apex, NC.
A memorial Mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart RomanCatholic Church in Pinehurst on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev James Labosky as celebrant. A funeral Mass will celebrated at Mother Seton Parish in Germanton, MD on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev Ronald Potts as celebrant. Internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mother Seton Parish Building Fund, c/o Mother Seton Parish, 19951 Father Hurley Blvd., Germantown, MD 20874.
