Patrick James Hourigan was born on August 17, 1955 in Troy, NY to the late Donald F. Hourigan and Norine Portonova. He passed away Friday, November 1st at his home in Raleigh, North Carolina. He leaves behind his partner, Betty Denmark, of Raleigh, daughter, Erin Peppers (Chad) of Middleburg, FL, 3 grandchildren, Kaylee, Ashley and Joseph Fraboni, his stepmother, Vickie Hourigan of Troy, NY, sisters Susan Grimmick (Skip) of Troy, NY & Lisa Hourigan of Florida, brothers, D. Michael Hourigan(Maria) of Pomona, NY, and David Hourigan of Troy, NY, nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends who will miss him.
Pat was employed by Time Warner Cable for over 35 years in various locations and positions throughout the country. He served for many years as the Vice-President of Engineering for the Southeast Division, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was an integral member of the company's engineering and technology divisions over the years, and was instrumental in the development of fiber optics in cable. His professionalism and expertise will be missed, as well as his warmth, compassion and infectious sense of humor.
At his request, there will be no formal memorial service. A private interment ceremony will be held at a later date in the Historic Oakwood Cemetery Urn Garden. His family and close friends wish to extend their gratitude to Duke Hospital Hospice for their kindness during Pat's final days. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor his memory may make a donation in his name to Duke Hospital Hospice.
