Pauline Dupree Obituary
Pauline W. Dupree, 75, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, 21 December, 2006, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Ms. Dupree was born in Wake Forest in Wake County, April 28, 1931 to Marvin R. and Nollie Catlett Woodlief. She married Daniel Ray Dupree on January 30, 1953. She lived with her husband in Wake Forest, Lubbock, TX and later San Jose, CA. Ms. Dupree moved to Franklin County after her husband's death in 1969. She worked for many years at Franklinton High School while her children were attending school. Later, she managed Sugar Loaf retail at the North Carolina State Farmers Market. She was known there as the "Apple Lady" and could easily recall what variety of peaches or apples her customers liked the best. Her dedication to her children was the highlight of her life.
Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock, Sunday morning, December 24, 2006 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Annas, Sr. Burial will follow in the Wake Forest Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Clayton-Lowe and her husband, Boby of Taylorsville, Ray Dupree of Youngsville, Betty Stallings and her husband, Robert of Kittrell, Rose Frazier of Goldsboro, Angelia Young of Raleigh and John Dupree of Florida; brothers, Marvin Woodlief Jr. and wife, Faithy of California, Therman Woodlief, Herman Woodlief and wife, Alice of California, Donald Woodlief of Louisburg, Frank Woodlief and wife, Sharon of California, Eugene Woodlief and wife, Sherry of Rolesville; sisters, Ruby Fuller and husband, John of Franklinton, Frankie White and husband, Shelton of Youngsville and Margaret Caton and husband, Larry of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Kenneth Clayton, Anya Stallings, Danielle Payne, Robert Lowe and David Young; great- grandchildren, Julia and Damien; in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Ray Dupree and her brother, Ronald Woodlief.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Centers of North Carolina on 4101 Macon Pond Road, Raleigh, NC, 27607.
