Peyton Strickland Obituary

Peyton Strickland, 18, died Friday night in Wilmington, NC, where he was a college student. He was a warm and generous child and loved by his family and friends.
Peyton is survived by his parents, Don and Kathy Strickland of Durham; his sisters, Collin and Joslyn Strickland, also of Durham; his grandparents, Dr. Martin Brooks of Pembroke and Joanne Brooks of Winston-Salem; his uncles, Roger Strickland of Carrboro, John Strickland of Middlesex, Matthew Brooks of Winston-Salem and Dr. Michael Brooks of Pembroke; and aunts, Laurie Godwin of Greenville, Mary Jane Nyswonger of Winston-Salem, and Amy Read of Wilmington.
Peyton's memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6th at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3741 Garrett Road in Durham.
A scholarship honoring Peyton has been created at The Hill Center in Durham.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Peyton Brooks Strickland Memorial Scholarship Fund, The Hill Center, 200 Pickett Road, Durham, NC 27705.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall-Wynne Funeral Service.
