Robert Atkinson Obituary
He was the son of the late James Henry Atkinson and Emma Frances Nixon Atkinson.
A home going celebration will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Goldsboro-Raleigh Assembly Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, 214 W. Hooks River Rd., Sr. Bishop Mordecai Johnson, officiating. Interment will be in the Spells Cemetery, Clayton.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: six children, Mae Frances Ashford of Princeton, Madge L. Atkinson of East Orange, NJ, Robert Wesley (Doris) Atkinson of Princeton, Lessie A. Sowell of Greensboro, Peggy (Leroy Jones (Fiancee)) Atkinson of Princeton, Matthew Jerome Atkinson of Goldsboro, Michelle Harper (Maurice) of Greensboro whom he raised, and a special friend of the family, Annie Sykes of Princeton.
There will be an inspirational wake held Friday from 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, Princeton.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow. Rev. Atkinson was indeed a source of information and joy to me whenever I talked with him. He inspired me to strive for the best in life and encouraged me to a relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
His words of wisdom will always be what I remember best about Rev. Atkinson.
