Robert "Bob" Oscar Baker
December 21, 1926- February 9, 2012
Raleigh
Born in Thief River Falls, Minn. Bob played on the 1948 Bronze medal winning USA Olympic ice hockey team. Bob was transferred to Raleigh in 1965 by IBM, where he worked for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and NC State fan as well as a loving father of 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Baker of 37 years. A memorial service will be held at Longview Baptist Church, February 18, 2012 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Longview Baptist Church Building Fund, 2308 New Hope Road Raleigh, NC 27604 or to Hospice of Wake County.
