Robert Batchelor Obituary
Robert Milton "Smiley" Batchelor, 73, of Zebulon, died Wednesday morning at WakeMed. He was born in Nash County, son of the late Robert Lee and Ida Moss Batchelor. He worked with Bell South for 34 years as an installer and repair technician and was a US Army veteran.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Strickland Funeral Home chapel, Wendell. Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by hiswife of 50 years, Bessie Carter Batchelor; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Leigh Batchelor of Raleigh; granddaughter, Marideth Batchelor of Raleigh; sister, Idalyne Ellis of Wilson.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Gideon Memorial Bible Chairman, Raleigh East Camp, PO Box 17373, Raleigh, NC 27619.
The family will receive friend 7 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.
