Bob was an instructor at MCAS New River, when I was Program Coordinator for Campbell University. The instructors were a small, tight group that were student centered, and Bob taught Music Appreciation for us for several years. A fine man. Condolences to his family.

Oh, what a delight it was for me to meet and spend time in the presence of Mr. Bob Gaskins. It was shortly after we had integrated high school that I not only came in contact with Mr. Gaskins , but I was able to become to know him as a loving sharing man who seem to not only love music, but also love people regardless of who they were. Now that I have lived life I know that it was through his music that he introduced many of us to Christ. I loved my time in the choir and band, but most of all I enjoyed being in Mr. Bob presence. Thank you Sir for all the love and caring that you choose to show a little misguided black child during those troubling days of my life. I saw love and light in and through your life. I praise God for the impartation of life that you planted in my life. I am eternally grateful to you for that. I will see you in Glory sir. Love always Mr. Kenneth L. Pointe

This wonderful person was my introduction to the flute and was an amazing teacher. When he smiled, you knew you did good, and you were always striving for that smile. He made such a difference in so many people's lives. To this day, at the age of 43, I still play my flute. Hewas a lovely person and will be missed.
