Robert Lee Morris, 79, of Wilson passed away Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday at Joyner's Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Walling will officiate.

The family will receive friends 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway.

Bob enjoyed a long, successful career in the tobacco Industry, retiring from Standard Commercial Tobacco Company in 1999. He enjoyed playing golf and loved time spent with his family and dogs.

Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia "Ginger" Morris of the home; his daughter, Susan Morris Gallo and husband, Steve of Charleston, SC; his granddaughter, Georgia Gallo of Charleston, SC; his grandson, Gavin Gallo of Charleston, SC and his brother, Dennis "Bootsie" Morris and wife, Rena of Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Henry and Gretchen Pridgen Morris; his brother, Joseph H. Morris, Jr. and his sister, Glenda M. Poythress.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to the Wilson County Humane Society, PO Box 7064, Wilson, NC 27895-7064 or the Children's Home Society, 604 Meadow Street, Greensboro, NC 27405.
