Ruby Ashley Obituary

Ruby R. Ashley
December 21, 1916 - January 4, 2013
Angier
Ruby Ashley, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday, January 4 at Hospice of Wake County. She died of natural causes following a long period of declining health. "Mrs. Ashley", as most called her, was a proud and dignified southern lady. She spent her life dedicated to her family and home, and worked for the City of Angier until retirement. Ruby and her beloved husband Kemp, who preceded her in death in 2002, were avid gardeners and loved being out in their flower and vegetable gardens. They both spent their lives as faithful serving members of Angier Baptist Church.
She and Kemp had two children, Ronnie of The Villages, FL, and Betty (Corbett) of Raleigh, and a special fondness for Betty's husband Bobby who was as a son to her. She also had seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. "Mrs. Ashley" now rests peacefully with the family that preceded her and her heavenly father. Amen.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks and gratitude for the loving care provided by the doctors and nurses at Wake Medical Center and Hospice of Wake County.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. January 6th at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Angier. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
