Ruby P. Hamilton

Ruby P. Hamilton of Raleigh passed away on July 12, 2010 at Hock Family Pavilion, Duke Home and Hospice. She was 87 years old.
Ruby was born in Johnston County, the daughter of William and Lossie Godwin Pipkin. She was a devoted, supportive and loving mother. Following a long career with the federal government, at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and NIEHS, she retired and then worked for five years as a administrative assistant in the Dept. of Economics at NCSU.
Ruby is survived and remembered lovingly by her son, Randy Hamilton; and her daughter, Kim H. Cunningham. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kellie M. Hamilton; her son-in-law, Britt Cunningham; and her grandchildren, Luke and Zoë Hamilton and Chance, McKenna and Alexandra Cunningham; and her sisters, Mary Cherry and Mildred Spencer.
She is predeceased by her twin brother, Royace Pipkin.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd. Raleigh.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.
