Surviving: parents, Carl and Linda Harper; sister, Nicole Harper.
Rusty’s family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 434 Fayetteville Street, Mall Two Hannover Square, Suite 1600, Raleigh, NC 27601-1764.

I was so sorry to hear about Rusty. Rhonda Wrenn let me know. I have often thought of you all and remember Rusty when he was a baby. Things change and time passes so quickly we often get out of touch with friends and family. I remember such good times with Viola and I lover her dearly. I still miss her. I remember how nice you were to me when I married Wayne. Your family has had a terrible year with the lost of Larry and now Rusty. My heart goes out to you as I understand your pain.
May God bless you all. I now live near Roanoke Va but still try to get to Henderson when I can.

my heart aches for the HARPER FAMILY.Ilost a good friend RUS was like a brother to me in the mid 80s,so many memories of the fishing trips,the beach trips,and just hanging out at the HARPER house,they all were like my second family.i will surely miss u buddy.MAY U BE AT PEACE NOW. GERRY WALL

I am so sorry to read of Rusty's death. He did work for me with his granddaddy and after his granddaddy passed away when I lived on Timber Drive. He was such a nice young man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Jean Fisher

Rusty was a good person and a great friend. I have many years of fond memories of Rusty and am heartbroken that he left us so soon. I pray that he is in a better place. My symapthies go out to his family.
