I learned just yesterday of Rip's death and was deeply saddened. I am also very disappointed in myself in that I didn't get to talk to him before he passed away. You see, I learned of his whereabouts a few weeks ago and even had his Hartsville phone number, but never made that call. Sad!

I know Rip from Lumberton, so we go back a few years. He and I enjoyed music and sports together. In fact, he and I and a mutual friend could do half-way decent jobs on a number of sprituals. 'Good memories.

My thoughts are with Rip's family and their grief.

The Welsh family lived just down the street from us in Lumberton. I remember Hubert and Harriett fondly from our associations in the Lumberton City Schools and in the neighborhood. Thinking of you with love and prayers.

Mr. Sam & I worked together at Chesterfield Lumber and I got to know a man that was so knowlegable, loving, kind and avid animal lover. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts & prayers are with the family during this time.
