Sarah Branch Obituary

Sarah Jane Branch, 89, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 4:30 PM, in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Branch, a native of Danville, Virginia, was the daughter of the late Mary and Judge Womack. She lived her early life in Leesburg, NC, and was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She made her home in the Raleigh and Garner communities, until she moved to Greenville in 2003. She retired from the North Carolina Department of Social Services, Youth Service Division. She was a longtime member of the Garner United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Branch was a benefactor and very active volunteer for the NC Museum of History. She served as a docent for the museum for over 10 years. She spent many hours writing letters to friends and keeping up with her granddaughter, whom she adored.
She is survived by; her only son, Connally Branch and wife, Svitlana Bilan, of Greenville; granddaughter, Dare D. Branch and husband, Pedro Koe-Krompecher, of Raleigh, NC; and step-grandson, Roman Leskiw, of Greenville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Rd., Suite 220, Raleigh, NC 27605-1351.
