Sean Newman Obituary

Sean Christopher Newman, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed from us on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at age 39. He resided with his family in Cary, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Julie Kay Newman, his son, Jackson Woodrow Newman, 6, his father, Mervyn, his mother Darla, sisters Michelle McCrory and September Lynne Kirk and a large and loving extended family.
Sean was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 8, 1971. He grew up in North Richland Hills, Texas where he attended Forth Worth Christian School. He married Julie, his high school sweetheart, on July 23, 1994 and they had seventeen wonderful years together. During the Gulf War, Sean enlisted in the Marine Corps where he was an integral part of the photo and video units. Subsequently, he become part of the White House Communications Office where he served as personal videographer for Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. After an honorable discharge, Sean freelanced for CNN, Fox News and others and was an active videographer/producer of small-screen documentaries.
Sean was larger than life, traveling extensively, easily making life-long friends, helping and caring for everyone he met. Sean touched hundreds of lives with his sense of humor, his faith, and his caring spirit. He leaves an unfillable gap among his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Rd, Raleigh, North Carolina, on July 17 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Kay Foundation, www.kayfoundation.com. An additional service for friends and family in Fort Worth is pending.

I remember Sean with great fondness as a confident, bright, well-loved 8th grader in English class. My son shared space with him on the offensive line at FWC in high school. He surely left his imprint on this earth for all eternity and my heart breaks for his loved ones.
My heartfelt sympathy, Beth Williamson

Dear Newman family,
I was deeply saddend to hear about your irreplaceable loss in Sean. I had not seen Sean in several years but we did share many things in common like being a fellow Cardinal, a Texan, a soldier, a father, and most importantly a Christian. As I grew up in FWC around Sean he was always an inspiration and a leader to his underclassmen as well. He will be missed here but I know he was welcomed with open arms and celebration by his Father. God bless you and our prayers are with you. Chad Nelson & Family

Sean was not only my coworker but he was also my friend. He always made traveling and working fun. I am so to have known him. I am also glad I was able to make the memorial service and thoroughly enjoyed all the stories that were shared about a great person. There is a saying that your wealth is not measured by the money and the material possessions that you have but by the number of people that come out to celebrate with you and for you. Sean was a truly wealthy person. My prayers are with the Newman and Kay family. Rainbows shine because Sean is forever lighting up the heavens with his infectious smile.

I traveled with Sean during the Clinton/Bush years at WHCA. What I remember about him is that after we talked, usually over something to eat, the first thing that came to my mind was "Man, that is one of the nicest guys -- really grounded, a true professional." Although I didn't know him really well, it was easy to see that he was a real talent and he would be a huge success when he left the Marines. He often talked of his freelance plans and his future with family. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Merv,

So shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. Sean was a friend of my son's and of course we always talked about you and I knowing each other in ATC and the fact we both had Enid in common.

Please we are thinking of you and your family.

I am shocked and saddened to find out about this, Sean was a awesome guy and I missed him. He called me a few weeks ago when he was in town and I deeply regret not cancelling other plans to go meet him. He was the reason I joined the Marines and we had a lot of good times...I don't think I've ever met a guy with a bigger or purer heart. Julie, I am so sorry for your loss.

Julie, I feel like I know you and Sean through Stacey. I am so saddened for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
