To the family of Seanne Winters Barnette: God allowed a very special person to enter all of our lives, no matter how brief, to demonstrate His love and grace, to show His compassion for all people and to show us how to earnestly contend for the faith we have in Christ Jesus. My dear sister in the Lord will be so very much missed. She was prayer warrior and evangelist, in heart and in her deeds. I will miss her at Drake Circle, praying for the unborn. I will miss her at Kindred Rehab Center of fourth Saturdays, ministering to the residents and staff. I will miss her in the MIT classes on Sundays and Tuesday nights. I will cherish the memories of our COGIC Academy experience and our trip to St Louis, MO. I will always remember her kind and encouraging words to me, and how she would yield her ear to hear what the Holy Ghost would say to her. A mighty warrior and woman of God has gone home to be with the LORD. Take comfort in knowing that our loss, is heaven's gain.

To Seanne's family: I am praying for and thinking of you during this challenging time.

Seanne and I met when we went to Europe with a fabulous group of teenagers in 1974, and, like everyone who knew her, I knew immediately that she was someone very special. She was always genuine, welcoming, kind, and so much fun. She was also wise and compassionate, even when we were just kids.

She exemplified the Bessie Anderson Stanley poem:
“She has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much;
Who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men, and the love of little children;
Who has filled her niche and accomplished her task;
Who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty or failed to express it;
Who has left the world better than she found it,
Whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
Who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best she had;
Whose life was an inspiration;
Whose memory a benediction.”
