Raleigh, North Carolina - Shirley Moose Meadows, born Shirley Patricia Moose, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024 at the age of eight-nine in Raleigh, NC. Her place of birth was Stanley County, NC on August 2, 1934. Shirley's vibrant and generous spirit touched the lives of all that knew and loved her.

Shirley was a 1956 graduate of East Carolina University earning a BA in Education. She then dedicated over 30 years teaching art and creativity to elementary and middle school students in the Wake County Public School System. Shirley was a fabulous lifetime dancer. In addition, her hobbies included playing cards and bunco with friends, and all manner of arts and crafts projects. Shirley made herself available to all in need. Her life legacy is exemplified by her 50 years of faithful membership at St. Johns Baptist Church in Raleigh, where she joyfully served the Lord, her church, and all its people.

When I think of Shirley Meadows, I smile. She was a very talented artist and teacher. I enjoyed sharing a classroom with her at North Ridge Elementary School when we were both teaching part time. We were also in a Bunco group together and shared many fun times in that group. She leaves quite a legacy. She was, indeed, a special lady and friend.

Shirley was a great help in the children´s ministry at St John´s. She helped me with so many things, from scenery to projects to crafts and art with children.
I will always remember seeing her beauty i of Durant photo at a gathering we had between youth and adults where everyone was supposed to bring a photo of themselves as a young person! Wow! Beautiful inside and out!

Shirley was a very special lady. I enjoyed sharing a classroom with her at North Ridge Elementary and we had lots of fun with our Bunco group. She was a beauty with a flair for fashion and elegance. She was a true class act and will be dearly missed.
