Susan Demers Obituary
Chapel Hill
Susan passed peacefully at U.N.C. hospital on December 17th, 2012, in the presence of her loving husband of 45 years, David Demers and the good Lord. She is also survived by her daughter Laura Luciano of Tyler, TX, her sister Elizabeth Mc Donald of Orlando, FL and her mother Belle Elliott, a resident of Clare Bridge in Chapel Hill, NC.
Susan was born and raised in Manchester, CT and received her BA in English from the University of Connecticut in 1964. She would go on to work on her Masters degree in linguistics at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. She was a dedicated and devoted daughter, wife and mother who would channel her love of books, music and cooking, through her daughter, Laura. She was the backbone of her family and her strength, courage, wisdom, sensitivity and inner beauty will be missed beyond measure.
Memorial contributions may be made to the united muscular dystrophy and cancer associations.

May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time in your lives? It is refreshing to know that God's word speaks of a time when all sorrows will be gone and that mankind will live in beautiful surroundings with nothing to fear.-Isaiah 65:17,21-24 will shed light on this.
Isaiah65:17 creating a new heavens and earth, 21They will build houses and the days of the tree will the days of my people be. 24 And it will actually occur that before they call out I myself shall answer.

I met Sue junior year in high school - she was that quiet girl in French I class. I soon learned she had a wicked sense of humor and we became friends and then best friends. In later years our lives and responsibilities didn't allow us to get together often and sometimes long stretches went by....but then we could reconnect and it was like always - best friends who never ran out of things to talk about - and laugh about. I've made other good friends in my life, but Sue will always be the one I consider my best friend, my kindred spirit.

David: It is with great sadness to read of the passing of your beloved Susan. She was and will remain for always the best gift to you in this world. May you find peace and acceptance as time moves forward as it shall. You remain in my prayers and thoughts along with your daughter.
