Thelma "Ducky" Jeffreys Harrell, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at her home.
Ducky, as she was named by her father, was born in Goldsboro on April 23, 1928 to the late Robert Alexander Jeffreys and Thelma Collins Jeffreys. She graduated from Goldsboro High School and from Marjorie Webster College in Washington, D.C.
Ducky was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Linwood Harrell. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Collins Jeffreys; sister, Barbara Jeffreys Gotherman and her husband William Willis Gotherman; sister, Lucy Jeffreys Elliott and her husband, William Henry Elliott; and her grandparents, George M. and Lucy Sterling Collins and Z.M.L. and Annie Jeffreys.
She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 a. m. in Willow Dale Cemetery with Rev. Gene Carpenter presiding. The family will greet friends at her home on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday following the graveside service.
Ducky is survived by her son, Linwood Jeffreys Harrell; daughter, Lucy Sterling Harrell; grandson, Jeffreys Shadle Harrell; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 200 N. James Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family would like to thank Diane Coley and Eunice Mason for their love and kindness as well as Ashley Cortez and Sheree Justus with Community Home Care and Hospice. These friendships have been a blessing to the Harrell Family.
