Timothy Kyle Owens, 33, of Raleigh, died Friday, June 24, 2011.
Timothy was born October 24, 1977 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Gregory Keith Owens and Darlene Peaslee Owens. He attended Miami University of Ohio and North Carolina State University. Timothy was employed with Yardi Systems in software support. He enjoyed music and loved to entertain with his guitar. His adventurous spirit and helpful nature always kept those around him smiling and laughing. He was a friend to all.
Timothy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Mildred Peaslee; and Francis and Noreen Owens.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue Phillips Owens; parents, Gregory and Darlene Owens of Hamilton, OH; sister, Pamela Owens and her husband, Erich Schudel of Cincinnati, OH; nephews, Trevor and Makaden; several aunts; uncles; and cousins; and godparents, Fred and Mickey Marple.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Interment will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, June 28th and 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

My Wife also lost a Son; He was 26 years, He would have been 33 years old this year.
There is not a day goes by that we don’t miss Him.

"When I grow up, I want to be just like you"...that is what I always told Tim...the problem with this was I am much older than Tim...he had such a kind, gentle soul....and that is what I strive to be like. Yardi is what brought us together, but it was our friendship that kept us connected after I left Yardi. Tim, you will always remain in my heart...may you have peace.

I always told Tim that when I grew up I wanted to be "just like him"....the problem with this is I am much older than he....Tim had a kind, gentle soul...I strive to like this. Always willing to help and encourage others, that was Tim ....Yardi is what brought us together, but our friendship is what held us together after I left Yardi. Tim, You will never be forgotten....you made a difference to so many people.

I only knew Tim for three months but was very lucky that he was my boss at Yardi. He was someone that anyone would be honored to call boss but more importantly have as a friend. For the last six months I worked with Tim on a daily basis.
Tim was the kind of person who could always brighten your day with just his presence, infectious smile, and goofy personality. In business he was an inspiration, he was a wonderful person to work alongside, but most of all, he was a great friend. I miss you buddy.

I didn't get to be around Tim as much in the last couple of years since our office has grown so much. But just like the old days, whenever I saw him he was smiling. He had such a huge heart and he will never be forgotten as I'm sure we all have a Tim story we could share.

I did not work on a project directly with Tim, but have an office near his and I really appreciated his positive attitude and pleasant demeanor. He seemed to have a 'can do' attitude and exhibited a lot of dedication to his responsibilities, but at the same time had a sense of humor. To all of Tim's family and friends, I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I encourage you to focus on memories that make you smile during this extremely difficult time. To many, it’s rare to meet someone as genuine, kind, understanding, caring, and easy to talk to as Tim always was. I'm very blessed to have been able to work so closely with him these past few months. I didn't have the pleasure of working much with Tim, but what I do remember is whenever I saw him walking down the hall, he always had a smile. Further, anyone who was walking with him, always had a smile, too. He was greatly loved at Yardi, and he will be missed by many. A good listener, friend, encouraging leader, dynamic personality and practical joker is how I choose to remember my boss of just a few short months. It is a testament to the character of the man that in such a short period of time one could grow so fond of him.
