Walter Ellsworth Morrison, Jr., 86, of Raleigh passed away on April 17, 2017. He was born November 16, 1930, in Berlin, New Hampshire, the son of Walter and Nellie Jane (née Jones) Morrison. He grew up in the Berlin area. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, when he married Ollie Inez Brown on Dec 21, 1952. They had one daughter, Pamela Ellen Morrison. He worked in the lumber industry in North Carolina before retiring. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Ollie, daughter Pamela, and sister, Jane Ellsworth Falardeau. He is survived by four grandchildren, Kathryn Tonkovich (Britt Miller), and Megan Tonkovich (Patrick McGuire), both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Anne Tonkovich and Emily Tonkovich, both of Laramie, Wyoming; and three great-grandchildren: Penelope and Benjamin Miller, and Edith McGuire. A memorial service in Walter's honor will be held on May 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Four Oaks Cemetery.
