William Bullock Obituary

Raleigh
William Cliffton Carroll Bullock passed away in the mountains in Asheville. He was an avid sportsman and spent most of his life outdoors hunting and fishing or playing at the beach with family and friends. The only thing larger than his 6'4" frame was his heart of gold. He always was ready to laugh and was known to hug complete strangers. He was a sweet son to his mother Carson Reid and father Alvin Bullock (Julie) and a caring fun brother to his sister Amy Bullock Bush (Byron) of Raleigh. He was a devoted grandson to the late Pat and Bill Reid of Memphis, TN and Rachel and Dick Tilley of Lumberton. He was greatly loved by all his aunts and cousins. As big and strong as Cliff was he became a victim of the heroin epidemic that has swept our nation. Pray for Cliff and all of those people who are victims of this horrible drug. Cliff's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, 8/3, at 11:00 a.m. Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, Five Points, Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Biltmore Housing, Inc., 11 Thurland Ave. Asheville, NC 28803.

Just stumbled across your son's obit. He was such a handsome young man and beloved son to be taken way too soon. Our sad hearts and condolences go to you, his dad, Amy, family and friends.
Sam and I saw you last in a warm October in Pensacola several years ago with Tish, Jean, Tony, Jeanne & Henry, Jerry & Gay along with various other friends.
All of you were very fortunate to have had Cliff in your lives for the years he was with all of you, making good memories. May time and love heal your broken hearts and bring you PEACE.

Carson and Amy, My heart is heavy as I heard of Cliffs passing. I know haw much he meant to both of you. I can empathize with you having a child and brother with addiction problems and the helplessness that comes with it. He will be remembered as someone so full of life and who dearly loved his mother and sister.

Al, Carson & Amy...Ann & I are so very sorry we could not be with you during this terrible time! We just found out today and are trying to deal with your loss, our loss as well! As John Ward of Lumberton said in his FB post recently as he was talking about his daughter he lost in a car accident you never get over it and it never gets better and you don't want other people to have to join the club. The anger he spoke of never goes away about losing your child and he went on to talk about things not to say and things to say it was very well written. My double first cousin Les Noble lost his youngest son Samuel to the same thing the first of the year. They too did all they could to help but sometimes it takes such a hold on them they can't turn it lose and it wins in the end. My heart aches for all of you and hope you can find as much peace as possible for you since everyone is different.
