Lorene Kimble

CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Lorene Kimble, age 84, of Centerville, died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at her residence.

Born Nov. 22, 1926, in Indianapolis to Robert Coe and Sarah Katherine Collins Hurd, she lived in Centerville since 1945. Lorene was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Centerville and a member of the VFW Post 1108. She loved the Lord and studied the Bible. Lorene enjoyed country music, dancing, traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, W.C. Kimble; children, Roger (Pam) Kimble of Richmond, Brenda Kimble of Centerville, Deborah (Windel) Stracener of Richmond, Barry (Tina Mathews) Kimble of Richmond, and Scott (Lori) Kimble of Centerville; 15 grandchildren, Angela (Ricky) Raitt of Rowlett, Texas, Michael (Pam) Strunk of Richmond, Chad Strunk of Centerville, Tim Marshall of Florida, Sherry Blackwell of Centerville, Jennifer (Bill Jr.) Longmire of New Paris, Julie (Lawrence Hunter) Stanton of Richmond, Sarah Stracener and John Stracener, both of Richmond, Tara Moody of Centerville, Morgan Kimble of Richmond, Alyssa Mathews of Richmond, Zachary Kimble of Centerville, Dakota Lafollette of Centerville, and Megan Yingst of Centerville; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Gipe of Richmond; brother, Stephen Hurd of Indianapolis; uncles; aunts; cousins; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Michael Strunk; twin sister, Florene Long; and nephew, Stephen Hurd Jr.

Visitation for Lorene Kimble will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Dr. Gene Kimble and Rev. Lester G. Maples officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
