Ann Mason Obituary
Ann Gettings Mason, age 91, of Brookfield, died peacefully on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Filosa Nursing Home. She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Susie (Puskas) Shimko.
She was raised in Norwalk where she met and married the love of her life, John Gettings. They settled in Redding and raised their 4 children. They were married for 25 years when John died at the age of 44.
A few years later, she met Frank Mason, who was a good companion. They married and lived in Darien for 20 years until Frank passed.
Ann is survived by her 4 children: Patricia Izzo of Brookfield; Sharon Guido and her husband, Ronald of Brookfield; John Gettings of Bridgeport; Michael Gettings and his wife, Patricia of Wallingford; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, 163 Whisconier Rd, Brookfield, CT 06804.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield. So sorry to read Auntie Ann's passing, She fought the good fight and it was time to surrender to God's will.
