Beatrice "Bea" Castellan (née McGinley), age 95, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Danbury, Connecticut.
Born on February 9, 1930, in the Bronx, New York. Bea's early years unfolded in the vibrant neighborhoods of the Bronx. It was in Queens, New York, where destiny stepped in-at a dance hall alive with the sounds of Big Band music and the swing of the Lindy Hop-introducing her to William Castellan, who would become her lifelong partner. Their love story began on that dance floor, each step a promise, each turn a shared dream.
Together, Bea and William built a life rooted in rhythm and devotion. They settled in New Fairfield, Connecticut, where they raised their family. In time, retirement led them to New Milford, Connecticut-a serene chapter spent side by side until William's passing.
Bea is lovingly remembered by her children: daughters, Carol Castellan and Diane Castellan; son, Eddie Castellan; and daughter-in-law, Terri Castellan. Her granddaughter, Renee Marcinko, carries forward Bea's spirit with grace. To those who knew her, Bea was a gentle presence whose kindness moved like music-subtle, yet enduring, leaving behind echoes of warmth long after she had gone.
A visitation to honor Bea's life will be held on October 25, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Service to be held at 11:30 a.m. at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT 06776. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 188 Route 37, New Fairfield, CT.
