Carol LiVolsi Obituary

Carol Teresa Kenny LiVolsi
Carol Teresa Kenny LiVolsi passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 6, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1937, she was the daughter of loving parents, Mary and Frank Kenny.
Relocating to New Jersey at a young age, Carol attended St. Anastasia Grammar School and St. Cecilia High School. As a young teenager, Carol was deeply honored to be chosen the Most Outstanding Junior Catholic Daughter in the state of New Jersey. At a convocation in the Grand Ballroom of the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City in the presence of her family, Carol received a daily missal and rosary beads, which she treasured throughout her life.
Upon graduating from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, Carol was inducted into Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities as well as the National Catholic Honor Society.
Carol and her husband, Jim, were privileged to have fifty-seven years together before he passed away in 2018. Over the years, Carol and Jim celebrated the arrival of eight wonderful children. Returning to teaching when her youngest was three, Carol spent many marvelous years with the faculty, students and families of St. Joseph School in Danbury, teaching her beloved first grade "chickadees".
Carol received her Master's Degree in Education from Western Connecticut State University and was honored to be selected to Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
Upon retirement, Carol volunteered as a religious education teacher at St. Joseph's. Among her joys were volunteering at Branchville Elementary School, Danbury Hospital, St. Joseph Church and especially as a Eucharistic Minister to the wonderful residents of St. John Paul II Center for Healthcare.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Jim, and two cherished children, Patricia and Greg, who were lovingly remembered throughout each and every day. She is survived by her devoted children, Tim and his wife, Mary Beth (James, Daniel and Peter), Kathleen, Kevin (Jackie, Greg and Matthew), Beth Anne, Teresa (Jackson, Luca and Carter) and Megan (Emma) as well as seven beautiful great-grandchildren.
In honoring Carol's wishes, a private funeral will be held with her immediate family. A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10 at 8 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. In lieu of flowers, a small donation may be made in Carol's memory to the Angel Aid Scholarship Fund, Immaculate High School, 73 Southern Blvd., Danbury, CT or to the Carol LiVolsi Scholarship Fund at St. Joseph School, 370 Main Street, Danbury, CT.

I'm so sorry, didn't know your mom had passed! She was the kindest most gentle soul! I saw her in June when she had a Mass said for my husband Mike at St Joseph Church! She was concerned about how I was doing! I remember her beautiful smile and I'm sure she will be sorely missed....she was loved!

Carol was a wonderful lady and a fantastic mother. She was a second mom to many of us in the Stonegate neighborhood during the 1970s. She and Jim established a home full of love, and they extended their loving welcome to me. I will always remember her as a graceful and kind soul.

Carol was the kindest person I have ever known. Our short talks always meant the world to me. She was especially kind to my family and their children who she never failed to ask about. I will miss seeing her outside every day. My deepest sympathy to her loving family.

I was a long term substitute at
St. Joseph School and Carol and I were colleagues . Carol was so lovely to teach with, always willing to assist me as I was new to St. Joseph . A fine educator and so very caring to every single one of the students .
Carol and Jim were extremely devout Catholics and I´ve no doubt our Lord is welcoming both of them into Paradise together . God rest her soul.
