Donald Melvin "Mac" MacPherson, passed from this life on December 4, 2022, in Grandy, NC. Born November 8, 1930, in Brockton, MA, to Frederick Arthur MacPherson and Melvina Reed MacPherson – Donald was one of nine siblings. Donald grew up in Danbury, CT, where he met and married Barbara DeNault. Together they raised Diane, Linda, Patty, Gary, Maureen, and Frank. Donald, a veteran of the United States Army, was owner and operator, along with his beloved wife, of the Wishing Well Motel of North Hampton, New Hampshire, and the Homestead Inn, in New Milford, CT. In their later years, Donald and Barbara retired and moved to Titusville, FL. Donald is survived by one sister, Beverly, of Southbury, CT; his 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Barbara, his wife of 62 years; his son, Frank; and his brothers, Robert, Ralph, Norman, Kenneth, and Carlton; and by his sisters, Dorothy Dixon and Ruth Bidwell. The family is honoring Mac's preference for cremation and there are no plans for services at this time. Please share condolences and loving remembrances at gallopfuneralservices.com.
