Edson Knudsen Obituary

Edson Gabriel Knudsen, 27, of Waterbury, formerly of Danbury, died on Sunday, February 7, 2010 in Waterbury. Edson, born in Brazil, June 6, 1982, was a son of R. Joseph Knudsen and Beryl (Kaplan) Knudsen of Danbury. An area resident for the past twenty years, he was a graduate of Danbury High School and attended Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church of Bethel. In addition to his parents, Edson is survived by a brother, Saulo Knudsen of Brookfield; two sisters, Joanna M. Knudsen and Elizabeth D. Knudsen both of Danbury; his paternal grandmother, Jane W. Knudsen of Southern Pines, NC and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services for Edson will take place on Saturday. February 13th in Saint Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Route 302, (just west of Old Hawleyville Rd.) Bethel. www. peterandpaulbethel.com beginning with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.. Burial will take place in St. Platon's Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at Saints Peter and Paul Church on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Donations in memory of Edson may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church (P.O. Box 84, Bethel CT 06801) or Saint Innocent's orphanage for boys in Tijuana, Mexico(Project Mexico P.O. Box 120028, Chula Vista, CA 91912) www.projectmexico.org. Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
