Dr. Felix H. ("Phil") Wagher, DMD, 56, of Danbury, died at his home on Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was born in Mineola, NY, to Alan E. Wagher and Anne (Cassidy) Wagher.

Dear Wagher Family. Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of such a good man. People used to look at me kind of funny when I said, I looked forward to going to the dentist. How could that be? He was so kind, funny, and understanding and what a great dentist. I had confidence that he could fix any dental problem I had.
He will certainly be missed.

We moved to Bethel in 1992 and were unhappy with the dentists we had tried. As luck would have it, our next door neighbor's son/brother had recently taken over a practice in Danbury, which he was running with his young wife. In addition to realizing immediately that our dental health was in good hands with Phil, we also hit it off on a personal level. We were around the same age and when Maureen became pregnant with Alanna, we too were expecting our first daughter. They took dance classes together and I will never forget Phil's laughter at that first recital.

With Phil at the helm, with his witty demeanor and deep intellect, going to the dentist was a breeze and never feared. Conversation with Phil (well as much as one could get in a word edgewise while being worked on) was never short on demand, unless he took a break to hum along to his music. He asked about our kids and was always proud to give updates on his own.

Chris, Karl, Alanna, Nik, Maureen and at the whole family; please accept our most heartfelt condolences for your loss. We are heartbroken that he was taken so soon and will be truly missed. He'll be looking down on everyone and looking out for everyone as he climbs that "stairway to heaven" guitar in hand.

You won't be forgotten Phil! We were fortunate to have known you.

With heartfelt sympathy,

Jim, Dori, Jill and Jess Cundari

Alanna, Nik and family....
It is with great shock and sadness we learn of your dad's passing. The Negrons were all patients of his and your dad's infectious humor, incredible intellect, his choice of music, his enlightening conversation skills about any subject made every appointment a fun -filled or educational experience. His pride in both of you was immeasurable. He will be missed by all, no doubt... and we hope all the wonderful memories of your father will help you through this sad time. God bless you both.

My husband and I were sad to hear of Dr. Waghers passing. He was a great dentist and a friend to his patients. I always felt when I had an appointment I was going to visit a friend and the friend fixed my teeth. He always had something interesting to say and enjoyed a good laugh. He had his music on and would sing as he worked. He will missed so much.

To my dear Alanna, Nikolas and Maureen,
Your Dad and father of your cherished children is at peace now. May memories of a happier time bring you some healing during this very difficult and sad time. Having worked with Maureen and Phil for years as they both worked so hard to establish the dental practice putting their heart and soul (and a lot of sweat equity) into was a rewarding part of my early hygiene career. We had a lot of laughs, and there was a LOT of love.
With sincerest condolences, Patti McCarthy-Lynch former sister in law, auntie to Nik and Alanna and Godmother to Alanna my prayers are with the entire Wagher Family
