George Martin Meyerle, age 88, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
George will be remembered dearly by his wife, Linda Louise Meyerle, of 49 years and his seven children, MaryAnn (Meyerle) Goldstein, Anya (Studenc) Caruso, Barbara (Meyerle) Schaus, John Meyerle, Elizabeth Ann (Meyerle) Moore, Paul Meyerle, and George M. Meyerle II, and by his seventeen grandchildren.
George was passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to nearly everyone who crossed his path, and resulted in many people coming to faith in Jesus and even more who received seeds planted by conversations with him.
George was born on March 14, 1936 in Bronx, New York, to Hilda Rose and John Meyerle. He was a twin to the late John Meyerle. After serving as a Sergeant in the New York Army National Guard, George earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from New York University in 1969.
George had an impressive engineering career and had issued 7 patents as primary inventor. He is recognized as one of the founding engineers through his private company, Netronics Research and Development, that brought the personal computer to the average household globally by developing a kit form of microcomputer trainer, the ELF and ELF II.
George was forever dedicated to his loving family and faith. He bestowed all of his passions on those around him.
Family and friends will be received at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23rd, from the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 138 Candlewood Lake Road Brookfield, on Friday, May 24th, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to St. Jude Hospital or St. Marguerite's Church in Brookfield, Connecticut.
