Dear Mrs. Rubino, Tony, John, Christine, Lisa and Gene,

We are so sorry to hear of "Big John's" passing. I will always have fond memories of John and his fatherly ways with all of his employees at the Stony Hill Inn. I will always remember the way his whole face would light up whenever he smiled and how good it made you feel whenever he did so. He definitely had his own way of running that kitchen and we all respected him very much. He was a man that had traditional values that are so sorely missed in todays world and he will be missed by so many. Our sympathies are with all of you.

Sincerely,
Shannon and Bill Ochs and Family

Dear Rose, Tony, Johnny, Chrissy, and Lisa, I was shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. John was always larger than life. Working for 20 years at the Inn, I always remember John's teasing and kind words. His love for family was always evident. Who could forget his whistling, singing, and on those rare occasions his yodeling??????
May your family, friends, and fond memories support you through this very difficult time. My prayers are with you.

Dear Mrs. Rubino, Tony, Chrissy, Lisa and Johnny: I am so sad for what you all and your children all are going through. I have many fond memories of Mr. Rubino. Every time Chrissy and I went somewhere - from the time we were in high school up until as recently as an outing last month - we could not get out the door without Mr. Rubino talking to us about being careful and keeping safe. He was a generous man who put his family first and his legacy will always live on through his children and grandchildren. We are so, so sorry for your loss.

To the Rubino family, We are saddened to hear the passing of John, or as we called him Mr. Rubino out of the strong respect we had for him. As a FF with Stony Hill it is an honor knowing Mr. Rubino as one of the founding fathers to the department. Mr. Rubino always had a kind word and a loving personality. I remembered him as a strong figure in the town and I have great respect for him. His love and personality is reflected in Tony and John whom I have known for many years. Mr. Rubino has left us here on earth but you know he is with God pain free and reborn.
Stay strong
With love the Farrenkopf’s

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel at John’s passing. We will always remember his love of life, optimism and cheerful smile and value John’s handshake and friendship. He epitomized the saying, “His handshake is his word.”
The world should take a lesson from John.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Rubino family. I will always remember their presence in my family's lives which included being good friends as well as business associates with my Dad, Mom and my entire family since Stony Hill was built long ago. The Rubino family made every one of our many, many family functions at Stony Hill perfect from start to finish every time. When I was a child, I remember sitting in the kitchen nearly every Friday night with John's Mom watching John cook. I am very sorry not to be able to attend John's service.
