Mrs. Julia (Lucsky) Valluzzo, 89, of Danbury, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Francis Paul Valluzzo.
Mrs. Valluzzo was born in Danbury, CT on August 24, 1927; a daughter of the late Stephen and Emelia (Wirag) Lucsky. She attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School in 1945.
Mrs. Valluzzo was a lifelong Danbury resident. She was a secretary for Davis and Geck and the Barden Corporation of Danbury. Mrs. Valluzzo was a member of the Danbury Garden Club, the Ridgewood Country Club and she enjoyed travelling with her husband. She also enjoyed knitting.
Mrs. Valluzzo was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church of Danbury.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Valluzzo was predeceased by four brothers; Gabriel, Andrew, Stephen and John Lucsky and four sisters; Lillian Lounsbury, Rose Pullen, Emily Hegedus and Carolyn Messina.
Mrs. Valluzzo is survived by her son, Rocco P. Valluzzo and his wife, Andrea, of Danbury. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Allison and Paul Valluzzo. In addition, Mrs. Valluzzo is survived by a brother, Joseph Lucsky of Rancho Cordova, CA and a sister, Ethel Schulz of Danbury as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow morning, Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church; 8 Robinson Avenue, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received this evening, Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home; 9 Granville Avenue, Danbury.
