Kathleen McAleer Skandera, 76, of Woodbury, died on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Glen Hill Center, Danbury.
Mrs. Skandera was born in Danbury on September 23, 1946, a daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Conway) McAleer, and resided in Ridgefield, attended Ridgefield schools, graduated from Ridgefield High School and Western Connecticut State University.
In her early years, Mrs. Skandera was employed with the former Data Set Cable company of Ridgefield and was later employed with Vitta Corporation of Bethel as a sales and customer service representative. She was also employed in food and beverage services at various area restaurants and catering facilities.
She leaves her daughter Laura Skandera-Sanford and her husband Seth of West Redding, CT. She is survived by siblings John McAleer and his wife Alisha of Vero Beach, FL; Alice Carboni of Danbury and Regina Bell and her husband Michael of Galloway, NJ, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, brother Edward McAleer, sisters Eileen McAleer and Mary Frances Morrill, and brother-in-law Steve Carboni.
