Margaret Evans Obituary

Margaret H. Evans, 88, of Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield, wife of the late Elmer M. Evans, died at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, October 23rd. She was born in Keil, Germany on September 2, 1922, daughter of the late Otto and Amanda (Nicholson) Seeman. A longtime member of the Ridgefield community, she was a member of the Ridgefield Grange, the Ridgefield Homemakers, and was a charter member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting, and keeping in touch with her many friends. She loved cats. She will be sadly missed by her three sons, Elmer O. Evans and his wife, Lennie of Gaylordsville, Ronald Evans and his companion Donna Aufiero of Danbury, and Mark Evans and his wife, Susan VanKley of Chicago; her three grandsons, Joseph, William and Ronald Evans; and four great grandchildren, Brendan, Kendall, David and William. She is also survived by several nieces and one nephew. A memorial service will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, October 29th at 11 a.m. Burial of cremains will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between 10 and 11 a.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Danbury Health Care, Patient Recreation Fund.
