Margaret Glahn Obituary

Margaret (Young) Glahn
11/19/25
Margaret "Meg" (Young) Glahn
May 17, 1942 – November 16, 2025
Margaret "Meg" Glahn, daughter of George and Jane (Kellogg) Young, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025. She settled in Bethel, Connecticut, where she lived for the past 55 years.
Meg is survived by her husband of 65 years David Glahn Sr., her children David Glahn Jr., Susan Glahn, Brian Glahn, Robert Glahn and his wife Brenda, her grandchildren, Christopher Glahn and his wife Vanessa, Joshua Glahn, Jenna Glahn, Janzen Glahn-Janatka, her great-grandchildren Mason and Kaleigh, her sister Bonnie Geithner, and her beloved dog Shaggy. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Amanda Metcalf.
Meg attended Ridgefield High School and later in life earned her Master's degree in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University. She had a career that began as a teacher's aide, then working at WCSU in the print shop and admissions office, ultimately teaching as a Professor at WCSU. Her interests led her to Danbury Eye and then Danbury ENT, where she provided hearing tests to infants.
She enjoyed Bethel Pizza House, and hot fudge sundaes. She spent her time painting, kayaking, gardening, crocheting, playing word and number games, and taking casino trips. Meg and her husband especially loved taking their children camping, a family tradition that created cherished memories for generations.
She also held close her favorite places, including Seagull Beach in Cape Cod and The Great Swamp in New York, where she shared many kayaking adventures with her husband, David.
Meg's kindness and compassion were her greatest gifts, and there was nothing she loved more than her husband and her family. Meg valued her faith. She fulfilled her destiny as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and trusted friend.
Everyone who wishes to celebrate Meg's life is invited to gather on December 12, 2025 from 4pm-7pm at the American Legion
7 Elizabeth Street
Bethel CT, 06801.

Yesterday

My sweet, sweet grandma. I miss you so much already and I know it´s just going to get harder..but I will ride the waves. I know you´ll be here with me every step of the way, until we meet again. I thank you for everything you´ve done for me and everything you´ve taught me. All the love you shown me. You truly are the sweetest, most caring, most loving human I have ever known. You are and will forever be my biggest blessing in life. I don´t know how or why I got so lucky to have the wonderful Meg Glahn as my grandmother, but I am forever grateful. I love you forever, grandma. I will see you again and I´m so excited for that hug.
